11/12/2023 0 Comments Court dossier meaningWe now know that the memo asserts that this dossier formed an essential part of the first and subsequently all three renewal FISA applications against Carter Page. Everything we’ve known about it remains true to this day. This was a commissioned piece of work that served as opposition research. It was made to look like a standard intelligence document that was produced by counterintelligence American patriots, when, in fact, it was nothing more than a painting commissioned by a rich guy. It was the idea of the Clinton campaign based on some early efforts by Fusion GPS during the Republican primaries to hire Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence agent, to put together an opposition research document and make it look like it was intelligence product, make it look like it was the result of intelligence agents, spies, doing deep investigations of Donald Trump and his family and associates. It was not produced by the American or international intelligence communities. In addition, the Steele dossier was contracted by Hillary Clinton. In other words, nothing in the Steele dossier, which has also been known as the Trump dossier, has been verified, corroborated, or confirmed. The Steele dossier, the golden showers dossier, the dossier that has yet to be confirmed, the dossier that has yet to be corroborated, which has even been admitted to by the former FBI director, James Comey. 11/12/2023 0 Comments Google camera app play storeIn the meantime, “anyone with anything to protect needs to update right away,” Thornton-Trump says, “if you can’t update the device due to age or a lack of manufacturer support it’s time for a new device. Google needs to do more as far as customer assurance regarding the security and confidentiality of devices running Android is concerned. The recent ‘ White Screen of Death’ problem hasn’t helped in the reputation stakes either. Like most of us, Thornton-Trump is happy that Google issued a fix and issued it quickly, but says that, based upon the severity and comprehensive nature of the vulnerabilities, “it’s time for Google to apply perhaps some of the “ Project Zero” capability to dig deeply into the Android OS itself.” There’s little doubt that the high number of Android vulnerabilities being disclosed is hurting the Android brand. “Everyone is safer today because of the great work and integrity of the Checkmarx researchers,” Thornton-Trump says. “My jaw dropped when I read this report about just how vulnerable the camera app was,” Thornton-Trump says, “it did not sound like a vulnerability, it sounded more like an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) actor with fully-featured spyware.” Indeed, Thornton-Trump observed that had the security researchers been wearing black hats they could easily have monetized this research for hundreds of thousands of dollars. I asked Ian Thornton-Trump, a cyber threat intelligence expert and CompTIA global faculty member, for his take on the seriousness of this vulnerability disclosure and how it plays into the broader smartphone security narrative. The ‘jaw-dropping’ security expert opinion Updating to the latest version of the Android operating system, ensuring you have the latest available security fixes applied, and the latest version of the camera app for your device is recommended to mitigate your risk. However, the disclosure of the vulnerabilities was delayed until both Google and Samsung had issued fixes, so if you have the latest versions of your camera app then you should be protected from this attack scenario. At the time of publication, no response had been forthcoming, but I will update this article if that situation changes. I also reached out to Samsung for a statement regarding this disclosure. A patch has also been made available to all partners." The issue was addressed on impacted Google devices via a Play Store update to the Google Camera Application in July 2019. If you can access the listing from that link, then you're one of the lucky few countries that can. This link is to the listing on the Play Store. I contacted Google, and a spokesperson told me: "We appreciate Checkmarx bringing this to our attention and working with Google and Android partners to coordinate disclosure. As beeshyams said in their comment, the Google Camera app is not available in some regions on the Play Store. What does Google say about the camera app vulnerabilities? What instructions could be sent by the attacker, resulting in what actions? I hope you are sitting down as it’s a lengthy and worrying list. Closing the app did not close that server connection. Once the app is installed and started, it would create a persistent connection to that command and control server and then sit and wait for instructions. It came in two parts, the client app running on the smartphone and a command and control server that it connects to in order to do the bidding of the attacker. This app, however, was far from harmless. We are, after all, conditioned to question unnecessary and extensive permission requests rather than a single, common, one. By just requesting this single, commonplace permission, the app would be unlikely to set off user alarm bells. This app didn’t require any special permissions other than basic storage access. It comes with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel ultra-wide selfie camera. How could an attacker exploit these Google Camera app vulnerabilities?Ĭheckmarx created a proof of concept (PoC) exploit by developing a malicious application, a weather app of the type that is perennially popular in the Google Play Store. In terms of hardware, the 7 Pro will have enhanced zoom capabilities, with up to 10x zoom, and an ultrawide lens that’s 21% wider than the one on the regular Pixel 7, and will come with autofocus as well. He also shared a quick demo of the Face unblur feature, which improves otherwise blurry portrait pictures. These include Cinematic blur, Extreme Zoom Window framing, Macro Focus lock (if auto is disabled) New zoom UI and Haptics, as well as options to choose exposure time for Night sight. The update also includes some new features, some of which were shown by Google during their fall Pixel launch event. The update comes in at 339 MB, making it a considerably large download in terms of app updates. 11/11/2023 0 Comments Dead space remake chapter 7Pull the gondola towards you using Kinesis so you can climb aboard to travel to the other side of the room. This is the deck that contains the SOS Beacon.įollow your Locator until you reach a long hall with a gondola. Go back to the Central Elevator and to go Deck D – Maintenance. Pick up Dallas’s RIG to complete this objective as well as gaining Level 3 Clearance. It’s a rather morbid audio log so it can be a bit disturbing. In this log you’ll learn that Dallas shot off his own limbs to prevent himself from being turned into a necromorph. Here you’ll find Dallas’s RIG and his final audio log. Fight them off and enter the room on the other side. Doing this will raise the walking platforms as well as bring in a bunch of necromorphs. Once all the asteroids have been burnt, go to the gravity control console and activate it. These anomalies are asteroids that you’ll need to toss into the fire tunnel with Kinesis.Ī panel on the wall will tell you how many anomalies are left. Here you’ll be unable to restore gravity until all of the anomalies here are dealt with. When you reach this level, just follow your Locator until you reach the room with Zero Gravity. You’ll need to go to this deck to find the Admin’s RIG. Make your way back to the central cargo lift and go to Deck B – Processing. Since finding the Admin RIG is highlighted by default, we’ll start with that objective. It turns out you lack the clearance to use this console so you’ll need to find the Admin’s RIG and the SOS Beacon that Jacob Temple was building. When you get to the Mining Control Room, activate the Launch Tubes. Fortunately there’s one in this same room, pick it up with Kinesis and insert it into the slot. The lift that takes you to the Mining Control Room is unpowered so you’ll need to find a battery for it. Do be warned that a necromorph will pop out behind you after using the Bench. Your Locator will lead you to the Extraction Area where you can find another Store and Bench. Either method is fine, do either and make your way forward following your Locator. Your other option is to use Kinesis to grab crates and use those crates to block the laser traps. These laser traps will cut through flesh very easily so you have two options here.įirst option is to shoot the traps to deactivate them. If you don’t know what they are, just wait a bit as a necromorph will walk through these. If you have been using the Line Gun, then you know exactly what these traps are. Some graffiti on the wall will warn you that there are traps ahead but you must proceed anyway. After defeating the necromorphs, the elevator will continue descending and bring you to the Mining level. Slashers will drop down and start attacking you. Halfway down the elevator is going to stop. This is the only level you’re able to go to anyway since the rest are locked down. Make your way to the central cargo lift and select Deck C – Mining. You’ll find a Store and a Bench here so stock up as you’re going to need to be prepared. Then proceed to the Mining Operations room. Go down and override the lockdown at the Tram Station. Get to EngineeringĪfter you defeat the Leviathan in Hydroponics, a new path will open up that will lead you to an elevator that takes you to the Mining Deck. 11/11/2023 0 Comments Best places to visit in nova scotiaKnown as "The City of Lakes," Dartmouth is peppered with 23 individual ponds, many of which are surrounded by public parkland and ideal for a picnic. There are two primary reasons to visit this Nova Scotia town (aside from the scenic ferry ride across the harbor): First, to enjoy its natural landscape and second, to take in its history. Sitting across the harbor from Halifax is Dartmouth, a small town that has been around since 1750. Recent museumgoers say you should budget about two hours to take in all the maritime history. While examining the Titanic artifacts is the biggest draw, previous visitors say that you should make time for the other displays. In fact, it was at this museum that director James Cameron saw the carved panel that inspired Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's raft in the 1997 film, "Titanic." (You can also find many Titanic victims buried in Halifax's cemeteries.) The display includes artifacts from the "unsinkable ship" and recounts local efforts to recover lost passengers and remaining parts of the ship. But the exhibit detailing Halifax's response to the 1912 sinking of the Titanic is, for many, the highlight of the museum. By displaying artifacts and providing interactive exhibits, this specialty museum recounts the numerous shipwrecks off Nova Scotia's shores, the city's days as a commercial shipping hub and its role as a military player in World Wars I and II. It makes sense that Canada's oldest and most substantial maritime museum is located in Halifax: The city's history drips with stories from the sea. You can even learn to shoot a 19th-century rifle from one of these reenactors (for an extra fee and age restrictions apply). From May through October, these kilted reenactors offer free guided tours of the fort and provide insight on what it was like to be a soldier there. You can also interact with members of the 78th Highland Regiment. And to truly feel what it was like to be on the hill back in its heyday, make sure to come at lunchtime, when reenactors of the Royal Artillery fire the traditional noon gun. The on-site Army Museum offers a closer look at the fortress's history. Visitors can wander the Citadel's corridors and learn about Halifax's involvement in major wars, such as the American Revolution, the American Civil War and both World Wars. Four forts have occupied this hilltop since 1749, when Edward Cornwallis, a career British military officer, governed the region the fort that stands today dates back to 1856. Towering over downtown Halifax, the Citadel is a testament to the city's military past. 11/11/2023 0 Comments Create pdf digital signatureUsing an electronic signature to sign a PDF or fill out a PDF form allows you to sign remotely, on any device.
